HCI, Accessibility and Aging, Personal and Health Informatics
Hi, I am a PhD candidate in the College of Information at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), advised by Dr. Eun Kyoung Choe. I received a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I am a member of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab and a former member of the Center for Accessibility and Inclusion Research.
My research explores technical solutions with and for marginalized populations, including older adults and people with disabilities, to support their independence, health, and wellbeing. My work informs strategies that bridge the gap between end users’ mental models and technical standards when applying AI methods in personal and health informatics systems.
Current Research
I am working on a “teachable activity tracker” project aimed to enable, empower, and engage older adults and people with cognitive impairment in training their personalized activity recognition models, with the overarching goal of promoting individuals’ active and healthy lifestyles.
